2025 Lamborghini Urus – Luxury Suv – 2025 Lamborghini Urus Plug-in Hybrid spied with updated interior. The PHEV will come with visual changes inside and out.

Lamborghini has already announced that the Urus will get a charging port in 2024. Until then, the company is busy with the pure ICE version, which you can no longer order because the entire production run is already sold out ahead of schedule. There’s still plenty of testing ahead of the electrified version, and our spies came across a prototype in the works right now. There were some changes inside and out.

Compared to the current Urus S and Urus Performante, the PHEV features a slightly updated center console with new-look air vents and different buttons for quick access between the two screens. We’re told the lower display is slightly larger and that the driver’s display can be changed to show PHEV-related information. The trim on the door panels and dashboard is updated from what we can tell.

Moving beyond the prototype, there are more significant changes as the headlights have a new shape and different graphics. Despite the camouflage, it’s clear that the 2025 Urus PHEV will feature a redesigned front bumper, a prominent rear spoiler and updated taillights. The high-performance SUV will retain the quad exhaust system and get neon green brake calipers in its exterior.

As for what will power it, a bi-turbo V8 will likely be paired with an electric motor. Porsche is working on a PHEV V8 Cayenne with 700 horsepower and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. The two high-end SUVs are not only mechanically related, riding on the MLB Evo platform, but are also produced at the same site at VW Group’s Bratislava plant in Slovakia.

Logic tells us it will be on the edge given its position in the Lamborghini hierarchy and the significant premium the Urus commands over the Cayenne. Further, the folks at Sant’Agata Bolognese have already announced that the second generation Urus will debut as a pure EV in 2029. The exotic Italian sports car and SUV maker based in Sant’Agata Bolognese is doing well at the moment. They follow last year’s record deliveries and come with a huge range of innovations.

For an automaker that proportionally only produces a few thousand cars and CUVs each year, it’s amazing that Lamborghini has come up with so many innovative ideas in a matter of months. We’re obviously talking about the refreshed and updated Urus S and Urus Performante models, the limited-edition sports crossover Huracan Sterrato or the all-new Revuelto flagship supercar with a V12-powered plug-in hybrid.

Lamborghini Urus Se Plug In Hybrid Officially Arrives

More are coming, including the successor to the Huracan, after the automaker announced it has booked the entire production lineup until next year’s replacement. Additionally, the past few weeks have fueled rumors of a 2024 Lamborghini Urus plug-in hybrid with multiple sightings. This is a natural and logical move, as the day when Lamborghini will be fully electric has not yet arrived. That’s right, it’s looming on the horizon, but before that moment creeps up, the brand will be looking to keep the V8 and V12 purple for a little while longer – rather than electrifying them to keep up with the arrival and upcoming regulars.

Soon, the entire Lambo family will be hybridized — and we’re happy to report that, unlike the Bentley Bentayga Hybrid and Flying Spur Hybrid, Sant’Agata Bolognese’s Raging Bull V6 Plus wants nothing to do with electricity. Instead, it will keep the mighty V8 under the hood and get nearly 700 ponies from its PHEV powertrain via the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. Let’s hope the Urus PHEV comes out with even more HP!

But what if the super-SUV also came out completely different? Well, that’s not possible in the real world, as we’ve already seen prototypes wearing essentially the same body style, with camouflage only around the front and rear. But anything is possible in the realm of the imagination of digital automotive content creators. With Mercedes-Benz China’s senior designer and virtual artist, Ren Zida, you don’t have to take our word for it.

New Lamborghini Urus Se Revealed: Plug In Hybrid Suv Is The Most Powerful Urus Ever

Pixelmaster used the latest AI tools – Midjourney and Adobe Photoshop’s new AI tricks – and created his vision for the unofficial 2025 Lambo Urus, ready to cut through the air like a diamond knife through butter. Yes, it’s rougher than the real deal, but is that a terrible thing? Well, we’d say no, but something still bothers us: before we made a CGI decision, we wanted a front three-quarter POV!

Lamborghini Urus Super Suv Gets An Unofficial Facelift, Dresses As The Lanzador

Unveiled Wednesday ahead of tomorrow’s official debut in the Chinese capital, the 2025 Urus SE combines the current Urus’ twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 with an electric motor for a total system output of 789 hp.

Order books will open after the launch, with first deliveries planned for early next year. Pricing is confirmed in the US at $258,000 before an undisclosed mandatory destination charge.

The electric motor delivers 189 hp. on its own and can propel the vehicle exclusively for a distance of more than 30 miles thanks to a substantial 25.9 kWh battery in the rear. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that also sends its power to a standard all-wheel drive system. But most of the time the motor assists the motor by providing torque fill. It also recovers energy when braking.

Performance figures include a 0-62 mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of nearly 194 mph, making the SE the most powerful version of the Urus.

Also new to the Urus SE is a centrally located torque vectoring system with an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch. Lamborghini said it can split drivetrain torque more precisely between the front and rear axles. It also runs a new electronic limited slip differential on the rear axle to help with handling. Lamborghini said this helps provide more control when cornering.

Handling has been further dialed in with new air spring gauges, and Pirelli has developed a bespoke set of P Zero Elect tires for the SUV. Tire diameters range from 21 to 23 inches, matching the different wheels offered on the Urus SE, and includes a winter option. Elect is Pirelli’s designation for tires developed for electrified vehicles, and means that the tires have compounds designed to handle the high torque characteristics and increased weight of the vehicle. Tires reduce rolling resistance to improve mileage.

The exterior design of the Urus SE includes subtle changes that improve overall aerodynamic performance, such as a new front fascia that creates fewer lines that trap air. The headlights have been revised and incorporate the latest Matrix LED technology, and the end caps are new. A new rear spoiler and diffuser, plus different air vents on the bodywork and underbody contribute to improved downforce and cooling.

Lamborghini launched its latest car powered solely by an internal combustion engine last year in the form of the Huracan Sterrato. All future models of the brand will start with plug-in hybrids and eventually move to electric cars.

Inside The New Lamborghini Urus Se’s 789 Hp Plug In Hybrid Powertrain

The first plug-in hybrid is the Revalto, an Aventador replacement supercar that combines a V-12 with three electric motors to produce a maximum peak of 1,000 hp. Later this year, Lamborghini will also introduce a plug-in hybrid successor to the Huracan. Lamborghini’s first EV, introduced by the Lanzador concept last year, is due for release in 2028.
